2. Obituary 3204, 19 Oct 1837 in Norfolk Co., Virginia
Died, on the 9th inst. after a long and painful illness, William M. Outten, only son of William and Margaret W. Outten of Portsmouth, Va. in the third year of his age. And though suffered to remain but a few short days in this world of sorrow, pain and disappointment, yet such were the sprightliness of his mind and the loveliness of his temper, that a character was unfolded to his parents which promised them much happiness in the decline of life. But God has otherwise directed--he has taken him from earth to heaven, for some wise purpose, though his parents may mourn their sad beareavement. How wonderful are thy ways, O Lord God, pass finding out.
