Notice of funeral hereafter.

22 July 1890---Death of a Popular Young Man
This entire community was deeply grieved yesterday at the announcement of the death of our townsman, Mr. John N. Hodges, who died at 2 p.m. at the residence of his mother, no. 305 North street after a long illness from the dread destroyer, the consumption. Young Hodges was 29 years old at the time of his death and was the son of late Co. Jas. Gregory Hodges, who so nobly gave up his life in his country's cause during the late war, and during his long confinement and severe suffering the son born his trials with true heroism and Christian resignation. The deceased was until recently in the employ of the A. & D. R.R. Co. and was a young man of genial disposition and of a generous nature. He was a great favorite with all his associates and will be surely missed. He leaves one brother, his mother and many friends, to mourn his loss. The deceased has been a consistent member of Trinity Episcopal Church and died in full hope of a glorious resurrection. The announcement of the funeral will take place in our next issue.
